What is a facial?
A facial is a wonderful combination of cleansing and relaxation for the face and neck.

What products do you use?
At Stress Out we use two product lines. Our primary professional line (and the product used to perform facials) "Wilma Schumann", is imported from Germany and is a problem-specific line. This product is targeted to special skin concerns, primarily aging. It has an EXCELLANT array of products for specific needs, but is somewhat pricey. In addition we also use and sell a private label line, ordered directly from the manufacturer, "Neju", that boasts a wide variety of cleansers, toners, and moisturizers that offer exceptional quality at a more moderate price.

What will the room be like?
The facial room is designed with your comfort in mind. Spacious, with soothing colors, a comfortable facial table, tempur-pedic pillow to rest your head on.

What procedure do you follow?
When you arrive for your first facial treatment at Stress Out you will be asked to complete an intake form which asks general questions about your health and the health of your skin. You might want to come in about five minutes early for this. Afterwards, you will be introduced to your skin care specialist who will lead you to the treatment room. She will explain how to lie on the treatment table, then leave you alone to undress to your comfort level. You will be covered with a sheet and blanket during the entire service, so you are welcome to undress as little, or as much as you choose. After a few minutes, your skin care specialist will re-enter the room and the treatment will begin. For specifics on what each procedure entails, please refer to the Skin Care page.

I have a big event coming up....is it safe for me to get a facial the day before?
We would not recommend receiving a European facial the day before an event. The extraction process in this treatment can sometimes leave skin pink for a day or two. Four days prior should be safe, or a mini facial is safe anytime.

I have VERY sensitive skin. Are facials safe for me?
Yes, absolutely. You will want to allert the skin care specialist of any allergies you may have and to the fact that you have sensitive skin. She will proceed with the facial, using extremely gentle, fragrance-free products that will be unlikely to irritate your skin.

Do you have products available for home care? I’m not sure what I should be using.
Yes we do, and the skin care specialist will let you know which products are best for you at the end of your service. She will also make a note on your intake form as to what products you should use, so even if you don’t purchase anything on the day of your service, you can return and feel confident that she has made a professional recommendation for you.

Is there a “best time of the month” to recieve a facial?
The Mini Facial is a safe bet at any time of the month. For a European facial, which include extractions and more manipulation of the skin, the best time to recieve one is just after your monthly period has ended when your hormones are at their lowest levels.

This is the time when the skin is generally less irritable and you will have less redness afterwards.
